Significance - disambiguation

"Significance" has two main meanings, especially in psychology and the social sciences. When used without any qualification, it is normally understood as referring to the statistical probability of the results. Qualified as 'practical' significance, it refers to the importance or relevance of the results beyond or despise their statistical significance and its usually portrayed as synonymous of 'effect size'. However, 'practical significance' can be further extended to include an assessment of the results based on reasonable grounds (eg, including the context of interpretation).
